4 Stars for Try Me
I first got a taste of Diane Alberts with her valentine’s release of On One Condition. I was an instant fan. So when Try Me was released, I jumped at the opportunity to review it.
When you hear the word Vegas – everyone thinks the same thing; gambling, boozing, hot men and tons of secrets. Well Try Me is anything but your average “Vegas” story. Try Me finds a down and out solider who is on leave stranded in the dessert after a night of fists hitting his face. The other guys totally deserved it – that’s what you’ll learn right off from Jeremy.
When a car almost hits Jeremy (he’s probably wishing it did) the long legs standing in front of him are none other than the girl he lost his heart too, years prior. The one that ran away crying when he said those three magic words. Now ladies, when we have a hot guy professing their love to us, we do not run away . . . or do we?
Erica, the one that got away, takes Jeremy back to her place to patch him up. They talk, eat dinner, and reminisce about old times. One thing leads to another and Jeremy kisses Erica. She kisses him back and he’s thinking, finally she’s come to her senses. Nope, she pushes him away, hurts his pride and just about laughs at him.
Any man would give up, but not Jeremy. He knows what his heart wants and it wants Erica. And who is to deny a solider his heart?
When Jeremy runs into his ex-best friend who also happens to be Erica’s brother, words are exchanged mostly due to Jeremy being just a bit pigheaded. Once Jeremy learns what Erica’s hang up is he’s back on her doorstep and this time he’s not taking no for an answer.
The ending killed me. I had happy tears streaming. *Shakes fist at Diane* but it was so worth it.
