Summary:

In book 6, after a teeny misunderstanding in class, Aphrodite is failing Hero-ology. To raise her grade, she concocts a brilliant plan–an extra-credit project for matchmaking mortals. This brings her face-to-face with fierce competition–an Egyptian goddessgirl named Isis. Now the race is on to see which of them can matchmake Pygmalion–the most annoying boy ever! Will Aphrodite wind up making a passing grade after all? Or will she end up proving she’s a diva with more beauty than brains?

These classic myths from the Greek pantheon are given a modern twist that contemporary tweens can relate to, from dealing with bullies like Medusa to a first crush on an unlikely boy. Goddess Girls follows four goddesses-in-training – Athena, Persephone, Aphrodite, and Artemis – as they navigate the ins and outs of divine social life at Mount Olympus Academy, where the most privileged gods and goddesses of the Greek pantheon hone their mythical skills.

Review:

Aphrodite the Diva, book 6 of the Goddess Girls series has you crushing in love.

We start off with Aphrodite and due to her petulance for war starting she fails her Hero-ology class and is forced to create extra credit; the Lonely Hearts Club. The Lonely Hearts Club is a matchmaking service for mortals looking for love.

This all sounds great for Aphrodite until her matchmaking skills are challenged by the other goddess of love, Isis. Pygmalion a mortal boy sends in his letter for the Lonely Hearts Club but, half of his letter goes to Aphrodite and the other half goes to Isis. Now Aphrodite must meet Isis in Egypt to put there halves of the letter together.

After Aphrodite and Isis read Pygmalion’s letter, they set off to meet him in his little home in Cyprus. He tells them they have two days to find him three beautiful girls to win his heart. Pygmalion decides that this will be a competition for the title of the true goddess of love.

Pygmalion is beyond picky after Aphrodite and Isis deliver three girls each, he declines them all without a second glance. Aphrodite and Isis are sent back on their missions with different tactics. When Aphrodite returns with her three poems from possible mates, Pyg says no. Isis returns with her three songs, Pyg says no.

Aphrodite and Isis are frustrated with Pyg, but soon realize he’s in love with his secret statue. Aphrodite and Isis do what every other immortal would do; they cast a spell turning the beautiful statue human.

Aphrodite the diva…and her new found friend Isis deliver cupid’s arrow in a sweet an enchanting love story.
