Interview with Mark Harris

1057735

It’s been two months since Mark Harris released his debut novel, Bewitched, a YA paranormal. Here’s a quick refresher: Is it love or is it witchcraft? He’ll never find out if he kills her first. The first time Darren saw Samantha, she was floating above his high school gymnasium during a basketball game, invisible to everyone but him. Next time he sees her, she’s sitting in front of him in class, wowing his friends and causing unexplainable things to happen that only he seems to notice. But things really get strange (and complicated) when his dying grandfather tells him that … Continue reading

Interview with Sherri Hayes, Author of Red Zone

red zone blog banner

Red Zone is an interesting title for this book. How did you come up with it? Red Zone is a football term. In football, the red zone is the portion of the field from the 20 yard line to the goal. This area is crucial for a team because if they fall apart in the red zone, then they will most likely leave the field with only three points instead of seven. It’s make it or break it for a team. I thought it was the perfect title for a romantic suspense novel involving a professional football player.  Rebecca … Continue reading

Stalk Me: Exclusive Cush Interview & Giveaway

StalkMe1Jpg(1)

Today we sat down with Brandon “Cush” Cushman to get his side of the story. I was very excited for this interview because I’m “Team Cush” all the way. Let’s see what he had to say. It’s widely known that you’ve always been sort of a playboy. Have you ever thought of settling down with anyone other than Keatyn? I crushed on her since I first saw her. Once I got to know her, I crushed even harder. She’s fun to be around. I settled for being her friend. I wish I wouldn’t have. I should have told her … Continue reading

Interview with @CheleaFine author of ANEW!

Anew Cover (Chelsea Fine)

1. How did you come up with the idea of a semi-immortal? I wanted my character, Scarlet, to keep dying and coming back to life, but since she was human (and not half-angel or part-god or anything) I had to make up some new rules. Most semi-immortals are children with one mortal parent and one immortal parent. Not Scarlet. Scarlet is semi-immortal because of a mishap with a hot guy, his immortal blood, and a cursed arrow that pierced her heart five hundred years ago. (Darn those hot, immortal mishaps! They’ll getcha every time.) I wanted Scarlet’s semi-immortal state to … Continue reading

Exclusive Interview with Bill Blais

Today we interview Bill Blais, author of No Good Deed! What inspired you to write No Good Deed? Actually, the story was inspired by a scene that punched me in the head on the way home from Readercon a few years ago. Seriously, it was that strong. I knew immediately that I had to write the whole story to find out what was going on there. That particular scene, however, involved a  character and situation that didn’t actually end up in No Good Deed, appearing instead in Hell Hath No Fury. That was the first time that had happened and it … Continue reading

Give Away and Exclusive Interview with @HeatherHildenbr Author of Dirty Blood

dirty blood

a Rafflecopter giveaway What inspired you to write DIRTY BLOOD? I knew I wanted to do a story about werewolves that was different than anything currently out there. It actually began as a NaNoWriMo project (National Novel Writing Month) in November 2010 and sort of morphed from there. I wrote the first draft, just over 50k words, in that first month. It was a crazy, whirlwind experience and taught me a lot about myself and my writing process to do it. Looking forward to it again this year. If you’ve never heard of it, check it out. They raise money … Continue reading

A Q&A with New York Times Best Selling Author Julie Kagawa

julie-kagawa

It is question & answer time with New York Times Best Selling Author Julie Kagawa After writing the Iron Fey series for so many years, how difficult was it to immerse yourself in a futuristic world filled with vampires, rabids and an enslaved human race? It was…very different.  I think the hardest thing for me was the fact that this story does take place in the real world — a futuristic, vampire-infested world, but the real world nonetheless.  Things had to make sense, for example: how far can a large group walk in a single day if there were no … Continue reading

Exclusive Interview with Denise Grover Swank

swank

What inspired you to write HERE? My daughter asked me to write a YA book so she and her friends could read one of my books. (I’ve written several adult novels.) I didn’t want to write a pure paranormal so I leaned more toward a science fiction basis. Was there any particular scene/chapter that was your favorite to write? My favorite scene to write was the one with Julia and Reece after he takes her to his home. They both let their guards down and it was special to write it. Which books are you reading right now? I just … Continue reading

Author Interview with @JHTrumble

DLMG

Today, we spend 10 minutes with J.H Trumble, author of Don’t Let Me Go.  (There may be a couple of plot reveals in this interview, so be warned if you haven’t read the book yet!) What was the inspiration behind Don’t Let Me Go? I can’t say there was any one inspiration for the novel. I just knew I wanted to write about two young gay men who were not in the least angsty about their sexuality or particularly flagrant about it either. They were just the boys next door who fell in love and felt the need to … Continue reading

Dark Days of Winter continues with @Brodi Ashton

Today, we are excited to continue with the Dark Days of Winter tour. We have an exclusive interview with the very lovely and super talented, Brodi Aston! What inspired you to write EVERNEATH? For years – and partly inspired by events in high school – I had this scene in my head. A girl returns to her high school after a long, mysterious absence. Rumors about where she’s been and what she’s been into run like wildfire through the school, and yet this girl stays. I admired her strength, and I knew I wanted to write a book starting at … Continue reading

Exclusive Interview with Veronica Rossi

Rossi

I can’t tell you how thrilled I was when I found that I was interviewing Veronica. Since reading UNDER THE NEVER SKY – I’ve been completely head over heels for her character Perry and having by “dying” to ask questions about him. If you didn’t get a chance to read my review yesterday, please check it out.   What inspired you to write UNDER THE NEVER SKY? UNDER THE NEVER SKY had several inspirations. I knew I wanted to juxtapose two different societies, one advanced and the other primitive, and I wanted to blend action, adventure and romance. I also … Continue reading

Interview with Kelley York

Today, we sit down with Kelley York, author of HUSHED – an amazing YA thriller and unconventional romance. Within young adult, Kelley enjoys writing and reading a variety of genres from contemporary with a unique twist, psychological thrillers, paranormal/urban fantasy and horror. She loves stories where character development takes center stage. What inspired you to write Hushed? Archer. I love writing broken, damaged characters. HUSHED was my second book, and in my first, I hadn’t gotten to write anyone who was really, really damaged. I had several other ideas/works in progress going at the time, and abandoned them all to dive into HUSHED once … Continue reading

Hittin’ the Road with @estevanvega

When somebody asks you to do a top ten list of all the places in the world you could visit, you gotta wonder if ten is a large enough number. I mean, if money were no object, and if time were available, where wouldn’t you go? Other than Antarctica, various places in the Amazon (rumor has it J-Lo and a bunch of Anacondas were spotted there once), and downtown Camden, Jersey, obviously. But let’s get on with that list, shall we? Californ-I-A. I’ve been to L.A. once, but for a very short while. I’d like to really see California, from … Continue reading

Interview with Tara Kelly

We sat down with Tara Kelly, author of AMPLIFIED.  Tara put on her iTunes to give us her on random because she has too many songs to choose from. So, her lyrics are a little…random. What inspired you to write AMPLIFIED? When the big hand speaks, it’s like fireworks in heaven. So you listen. Don’t think. ~The Big Hand by The Cure Are there any more in the series, if so how many? I’ll be back, don’t worry. ~Flame Thrower by Econoline Crush.  That’s pretty vague, huh? I’d like to write more books about C-Side, but that depends on how … Continue reading

We Interview Jaz, Jackson & Simon – IF I TELL

Jackson: You’ve been given a second chance, not only in life but also with Jaz. How will you do things differently? I honestly think I am doing things differently. I’m not angry anymore. I don’t need the drugs. I found someone like Jaz who is a great person and I just want to enjoy her. And grow with her. Jackson: Where do you see yourself in five years? I want to go to University. Gap year first I’m thinking, so in five years I’ll be graduating and ready for my first real career. I’ll be in touch with my Grandma … Continue reading

This or That with author Mari Mancusi

This or That with Mari Mancusi author of BLOOD TIES Ice Cream or Frozen Yogurt? Ice Cream. Blue Bell Cookies and Cream in a sugar cone with chocolate sprinkles! Either that or a Dairy Queen M&M Blizzard. (Okay, now I’m hungry, thanks!) Mountainview or Beachfront? I love both in different ways, but I’m going to go with beachfront. There’s just something about hearing the waves crash on the shore as you drift off to sleep. The salt in the air, the sand under your toes. Ahh. Sadly, I’m currently a bit landlocked in Texas. Pen or Pencil? Pen. I’d rather … Continue reading
