Exclusive Interview with Keary Taylor

EDEN Book Giveaway at the Bottom

EDEN is very different from your previous novels, what inspired you to make a jump?

Keary Taylor

When I first started writing EDEN, it was a total experiment to see if I could actually do sci-fi. I’d never written in that genre, never thought I would. But I had the idea for the story, and I really wanted to write it, so I just jumped in!

How did your writing process differ with EDEN over your FALL OF ANGELS series and WHAT I DIDN’T SAY?

The biggest difference was that there was a big gap of time from when I started to when I finished. I was in the middle of writing book 2 in the FALL OF ANGELS when I got the idea for EDEN. I started working on it for about a month but then had to go back to that second book. The time apart was good though, I came up with a lot of new ideas while I was away from it.

How involved will you be in the production of EDEN?

The producers have been great, keeping me very informed about the things that are going on. They’ve asked for my input on a lot of things which I didn’t really expect in the beginning. But honestly, they know what they’re doing and I really don’t, lol, so I’m happy to let them do their thing!

Are you willing to indulge us in a little fan-casting on EDEN? Who is your fantasy lead?

AnnaSophia Robb

Absolutely! The only girl I’ve found that has been close for Eve is AnnaSophia Robb from SOUL SURFER.

For Avian, I would love, love Wentworth Miller from PRISON

Wentworth Miller

BREAK, but sadly he’s about 15 years too old to play him…

So I can’t wait to see who ends up being casted! For West I picture Matt Lanter from 90210.

Matt Lanter

Looks like you’ve hit three major genres. What can fans expect next from Keary Taylor?

I’m keeping it pretty hush hush what’s next, but you can expect a whole lot more sci-fi/dystopian!

Which novel did you find the easiest to write? The hardest?

That’s a hard, tricky question to answer. I’d say EDEN was probably the easiest. It just sort of came out. I connected with the story on a very deep level and the characters were so real for me.

Hardest? Probably FORSAKEN, book 2 in the FALL OF ANGELS. I got into a huge rut with it (that’s when I started EDEN) and eventually went back and re-wrote 2/3 of the book! Hardest genre though would be contemporary, with WHAT I DIDN’T SAY. That’s a whole different game from sci-fi/fantasy.
