The two become fast friends, and it is because of Po that Liesl is able to escape from her attic room and embark on a journey to bury her father’s ashes beside those of her mother. However, because of a mix-up at the undertaker’s, the box that Liesl carries does not contain her father’s ashes. Instead, it contains the most powerful magic in the world. And the alchemist who created that magic desperately wants it back.

Review:

Liesl & Po is a great book. Part one catches the reader in a magnificent mixture of emotions that touches your heart with the loss of a mother and father and the meanest  of all which is Liesl’s stepmother.

Liesl is a girl with no mother or father and a terrible stepmother.  One who  locks Liesl in the attic bedroom for THIRTEEN MONTHS and had the servants that she hired with Liesls fathers money walk up 3 flights of stairs with a tray of food and a drink.

While Liesl was locked in the attic she had company from a ghost on the Other Side where Liesl’s father was but not her mother. The ghosts name is Po and he and his pet, Bundle, come to visit Liesl . Liesl asked Po to deliver a message saying “I love and miss you”. Po says he will do it in exchange of one Liesl’s drawings.

Po made good on his deal with Liesl and got her a message from her dad.  Can you guess what he said?

There is more to part one just you will have to read the book when it comes out this a terrific book I can’t wait to read the rest.
