PREVIEW: Until I Die

Our most swoon-worthy revenants are back in UNTIL I DIE, the highly anticipated sequel to DIE FOR ME. Author, Amy Plum, delivers the perfect combo of love, thrills and a very surprising twist all while keeping us happily entranced in the city of love, Paris.

The whole gang is back and on high alert. Gaspard and Vincent have been teaching Kate how to sword fight. After her very unfortunate yet lucky beheading of numa leader Lucien, the revenants of Paris have been training Kate on how to protect herself. A skill that is much needed if you are going to be hanging out with the Paris undead.

Newcomers Arthur and Violette are brought in to help the family figure out what the numa are up too. They’ve been around a lot longer then most, and Violette has close friends who are numa. This should’ve been a blinking red light for Vincent and company, but aren’t you supposed to trust and protect your family?

The romance between Kate and Vincent is so breathtaking. They are so in love and it is pure joy to read their interactions. It’s hard to believe that there is a tremendous age gap, not too mention he’s a bit dead and all.  And not to leave out Jules and Ambrose and their flirting with Kate, is so sweet and hilarious how they goad Vincent.

It’s that romance that drives both Kate and Vincent to find a way they can be with each other until Kate dies. Something neither of them want to think about, but know is a reality. Kate’s papy plays a huge part in Kate’s research, unsuspectingly. And the way Vincent tries to curb his desire to die, is something Kate does not agree with.

Question is, which method wins out?

The ending left me blank. I truly love this series and I fear what might be in the third and final book in the trilogy. I’m hoping that Plum doesn’t do what I think is going to happen. Waiting another year to find out is going to be torturous.

One of the most amazing traits about Plum, is that her writing puts you in the scene. You can’t help but feel like you are sitting in the cafe drinking coffee with Kate, walking down the cobblestone street with the details descriptions. From the sight, sounds and feel of what Paris is like, you will so clearly imagine yourself there.

UNTIL I DIE is out May 8th, pre-order today.
