Review:

From the first few chapters, I was positive I wasn’t going to be able to stop reading until I knew what happened to Sara’s mom. Right away this book pulls you in to Sara’s life, a life filled with so much hurt and sadness that you just want to reach through the pages, give her a hug and tell her everything will be ok, even if you’re not sure if that’s the truth.

Sara’s dad is physically abusive to her mother and was to her brother until he took his own life. A majority of this book is spent keeping the reader in the dark about the reasoning behind Sara’s brother’s suicide. When it’s finally revealed my heart broke for everything Matt, Sara’s brother was going through. I was equally brokenhearted for Sara because she was in the dark about issues her brother was facing throughout his life.  I spent the last few chapters of this book with tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat wanting Sara and her family to get the happy ending they deserved.  I highly suggest reading this book, it will tug at your heart strings.

Summary:

“Don’t even think of leaving…I will find you,” he whispered. “Guaranteed.”Sara and her mom have a plan to finally escape Sara’s abusive father. But when her mom doesn’t show up as expected, Sara’s terrified. Her father says that she’s on a business trip, but Sara knows he’s lying. Her mom is missing—and her dad had something to do with it. Each day that passes, Sara’s more on edge. Her friends know that something’s wrong, but she won’t endanger anyone else with her secret. And with her dad growing increasingly violent, Sara must figure out what happened to her mom before it’s too late… for them both.
