Review:

Once in a great while, a book comes a long that I feel I can really relate to. Reunited is one of those books. Every time I go anywhere with my best friends, some sort of unrealistic shenanigans happen to us. The same is true with Alice, Teirnan, and Summer in Reunited. They used to be the best of friends until one night it all ended and throughout this book, the reader wonders what happened to cause such issues between girls who seem to be true soul sisters. Sure, they’re all different in their own ways but that is what made them such great friends… they balance each other out. They’ve always had a mutual love for the band Level3, and when the band gets back together for a reunion show, so do the girls. They have all gone their seperate ways since their Freshman year of High School and so the road trip had the potential to be awesome or an utter disaster. Along the way, they hit many roadbumps which test each of the girls individually and as “friends”. When the book finally reveals what happened between the friends, I felt it was refreshing because it was realistic. Hilary Weisman Graham did a great job of digging in to her inner teenager and bringing out genuine feelings and issues that face teenage girls without any over the top emotions. This book was definitely a breath of fresh air and kudos to Hilary Weisman Graham for bringing very believable characters to life in this lovely book.

Synopsis:

(Coming from Simon & Schuster – June 12, 2012)
1 Concert. 2,000 Miles. 3 Ex-Best Friends.

Alice, Summer, and Tiernan are ex-best friends. Back in middle school, the three girls were inseparable. They were also the number one fans of the rock band Level3. But when the band broke up, so did their friendship. Summer ran with the popular crowd, Tiernan was a rebellious wild-child, and Alice spent high school with her nose buried in books. Now, just as the girls are about to graduate, Level3 announces a one-time-only reunion show. Even though the concert’s 2000 miles away, Alice buys three tickets on impulse. And as it turns out, Summer and Tiernan have their own reasons for wanting to get out of town. But on the long drive cross-country, the girls hit more than a few bumps in the road. Will their friendship get an encore or is the show really over?
