That Wedding is sexy and I’m not talking the Danny, Phillip and Cornhusker boys. Phillip and JJ are hot together, makes me a bit jealous I must say. What you will get out of That Wedding is that it will make you laugh, cry, laugh and again and say “Honey, you should be more like Phillip.
We pick up right after That Boy, with Phillip walking JJ to their hotel suite – were they have all the loving! Then reality hits. Mrs. Mac is ready to start planning the wedding right now, JJ not so much and with all the talk of colors and a theme, JJ is in way over her head. All she really wants to do is cuddle with Phillip and watch some football. According to Phillip, she’s every man’s dream.
Funny alert: When JJ tells Danny that she needs a theme – he suggests a XXX wedding and spends a majority of his time texting her ideas. It’s freaking brilliant!
To add salt to JJ’s already opened wound, figuratively speaking, Pastor John wants the happy couple to attend couples counseling . . . dun dun dun. What Pastor John suggests that JJ and he meet privately for the first time, he sets out some harsh realities for her which only set her off and she says no to couples counseling.
One defining moment for our couple comes when they are trying to plan their wedding and they pull out old photo albums that tells their history and their dream wedding starts to take shape. Mind you it is GORGEOUS! With an idea in place, JJ meets with Mr. Diamond to access her money and when he says she can’t use any of her inheritance for the wedding unless they go to couple counseling, they decide Vegas or a beach wedding will have to do.
When the dream location has an opening on a date that means a lot to JJ, she concedes with counseling – what ensues from here is hilarious antics and an emotional roller coaster. JJ and Phillip will be tested, put through the ringer and hung out to dry.
All I can really say is that you have to read That Wedding. It is so worth it. From the detailed wedding plans to the trips down memory lane, you will be lost in a sea of love with these characters.
