Summary:

How do you defy destiny?

Helen Hamilton has spent her entire sixteen years trying to hide how different she is—no easy task on an island as small and sheltered as Nantucket. And it’s getting harder. Nightmares of a desperate desert journey have Helen waking parched, only to find her sheets damaged by dirt and dust. At school she’s haunted by hallucinations of three women weeping tears of blood . . . and when Helen first crosses paths with Lucas Delos, she has no way of knowing they’re destined to play the leading roles in a tragedy the Fates insist on repeating throughout history.

As Helen unlocks the secrets of her ancestry, she realizes that some myths are more than just legend. But even demigod powers might not be enough to defy the forces that are both drawing her and Lucas together—and trying to tear them apart.

Review:

Starcrossed is Greek mythology at its… yummiest!

Demigods descend onto Nantucket and turn local teen, Helen, into a tailspin. Helen always knew she was different but she just didn’t know what that meant until Lucas Delos entered her hallway. The instant and almost ‘fatal’ attraction leads Helen and Lucas into this topsy turvy game of cat and mouse.

Lucas and his cousins Jason and Hector are new to town and total eye candy at their new school. They have everyone’s attention, including that of Helen and her BFF for life, Claire. Helen’s attention is not for the best and she can’t figure out why. That is, until Lucas saves her life one night, over and over again.

After a bodily collision with Lucas, Helen learns quickly about her identity and that the only way to stay safe is to allow Lucas and his family to protect her. Now being a somewhat average teenager, Helen is totally hot after Lucas but he knows a deep family secret that will keep them apart but Helen is determined to win him over.

Starcrossed doesn’t lack in any department. We have romance, mystery and action. Angelini has put together a gorgeous and fun story that will have each of you ready to take on your next Greek mythology assignment.
