Review:

Leigh Fallon makes a smashing debut with THE CARRIER OF THE MARK.  This electrifying novel was discovered on Inkpop, an online writing community sponsored by HarperCollins.  If you have a story or are thinking about writing, I encourage you to check out Inkpop because you never know who is reading your stories.

THE CARRIER OF THE MARK takes place in Ireland and what grabbed me from the get go is the lingo.  Fallon isn’t one of those writers giving a setting she’s never been in, she lives there part time.  Reading the actual phrases used by teens was hilarious.  I found myself laughing at the bravery behind some of her words.

CARRIER is jam packed with everything you can ask for; a great best friend, hot classmates and the very delicious boyfriend.  Not to mention a gorgeous setting.  You will definitely want to visit Ireland after you’ve read this.  Oh yes and the conflict…it seems our main character Megan, carries the “mark”.

The “mark” is one of the main elements.  We have wind, fire, earth and water.  Megan, along with her boyfriend and his siblings create the elemental circle known in ancient times as The Order of the Mark.  When Megan finds this out, it begins her journey on what her destiny is and the danger that looms.  The Knox group is determined to brainwash mark carriers for their own revenge against the Order.

With a mythological facet THE CARRIER OF THE MARK is a fast moving story, with twists, turns and a ‘oh no that did not just happen’.  You will laugh hard and feel the agony of Adam when he learns of Megan’s destiny.  You’ll find yourself asking, do you take the path of true love or follow your destiny?  Either way, guarantee you will be asking for more.

CARRIER is in stores on October 4th and will fly off the shelves, pre-order today to reserve your copy here!
