This or That with Richard from Second Hand Heart

We’ve been given the pleasure of participating in the SECOND HAND HEART blog tour hosted by Teen Book Scene

We “sat” down with Richard and played a little ‘This or That’

Sunset or Sunrise
Sunrise. It’s the hiker’s choice. It means the whole long day outdoors is ahead of you.  It’s a beginning, not an ending. I like beginnings better than endings.

Dessert before or after dinner
After. It maintains my sense of order. I’m not a complete tight-ass, but I think my world clicks along better when I keep things in proper order.

Dogs or Cats
Dogs. Cats are…I don’t hate cats. I don’t even dislike them. But they are so darned independent. Dogs are more dependable. No, that’s not the word I want. I guess I mean they’re predictable. They give love so predictably. Sometimes that’s a real comfort.

Theater movies or at home dvd’s
With Lori, I liked theater movies better. She used to always get those huge tubs of popcorn with extra buttery-flavored…whatever it is. And we’d share it. Now it might be a while before I could handle a theater movie again. But I will.  I really will. You just have to give people time. In the meantime, definitely home DVDs.

Water sport or snow sports
Snow sports. I love the snow. I know I live where it doesn’t snow (the Bay Area) but maybe that’s why I love it so much. It’s a rare treat. I love snowshoeing in the mountains. Or just hiking in the snow. The whole world looks so clean and new, so shiny.

Series or single stories
Single stories. I have a bit of a short attention span (though I’m ashamed to admit it).

Sundaes or milkshakes
Usually neither. But if I were going to break over, I’d go for the milkshake. A sundae is just too, too decadent. By the time I’m halfway through, it’s just too much. But every now and then a burger, fries and a chocolate share are just what the doctor ordered.

Fairies or Angels
Not a fairy person. I’m not positive if I believe in angels. But I want to. I really want to. So I’ll pick angels. And just go on faith.

Hardback or ebook
Hardback. I don’t have an ereader…yet. I like books. I like the way they feel, the way they smell. I like to read them in the tub. Maybe I’ll make the big switch, but I don’t know. There’s a nice sense of tradition in a hardback.

Email or letter
Either. Both. Email is certainly more convenient. But anything that communicates using the written word is fine with me.

Convertible or Air Conditioner
Convertible. Air conditioning is weird. Unnatural. A convertible is freedom. Real freedom.

Train ride or car ride
Train ride. Because I can read, watch the scenery. Daydream. My mind can be a million miles away.

Drama or Comedy
Drama. Not heavy or dark drama. But I really do want my entertainment to have some emotion, some deeper meaning.

Sci-Fi or Horror
Sci-Fi. Never horror. I can’t handle horror. I can’t get the images out of my head. I can’t understand why anyone wants horrific images in their head. But I love Sci-Fi, because it’s such a great exercise in imagination.
