Summary: For broken-hearted Olivia Larsen, nothing can change the fact that her twin sister, Violet, is gone… until a mysterious, beautiful gown arrives on her doorstep. The dress doesn’t just look magical; it is magical. It has the power to grant her one wish, and the only thing Olivia wants is her sister back.
With Violet again by her side, both girls get a second chance at life. And as the sisters soon discover, they have two more dresses-and two more wishes left. But magic can’t solve everything, and Olivia is forced to confront her ghosts to learn how to laugh, love, and live again.
Review
Olivia wanted her sister back. She recieves a magical gown that will allow her to do just that. So when Violet is back at her side, she feels as though she can take on the world. Only, getting what you wish for isn’t the way to solve all of your problems, and getting what you wish for isn’t always going to make everything easier. Olivia learns that magic can only take her so far.
I will not lie, it took me a little bit to get into the book, but once I did, I found myself hoping that Olivia could conquer the world. I was rooting for and supporting her as if she was my best friend. Olivia is made a total of three magical dresses by Posey, a seamstress. She has three wishes… and the whole time I am wondering what wishes she will make, and when she makes them, I am left wondering, was that a right choice?
Wish, is a charming debut novel from Bullen. While I enjoyed the book, I feel like it would appeal more to younger teens.
But, I also think that it is a must read for any teen who has lost a family member. It really does pose the question, what would you wish for? Do you know?
